The center is adorned with a hand-painted floral botanical motif consisting of vibrant orange and blue flowers, green leaves, and abstract brown branch accents, all contained within a crisp dark brown oval border. This style of openwork porcelain, often used for holding nuts, mints, or jewelry, was highly popular throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. This exact combination of geometric lattice borders and oriental-inspired floral work were famously produced by upscale ceramic factories in Japan and a few other european countries.ย
