ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Gertrude Elizabeth Story was a Canadian short story writer, poet and radio broadcaster. She began writing humorous stories and commentaries based on the rural German-Canadian Lutheran farming community she was raised within in 1950. With these stories Gertrude Story has staked out her own territory with a deftness and a certainty that will surprise and delight.
