  1. Conflagration, The War of 1812, by Robert Collins,
  2. Agitation, The struggle for Self Rule, by Arthur R. M. Lower,
  3. Confederation, Champagne Launching for the Ship of State, by Harry Bruce,
  4. Consolidation. One Country Sea to Sea, by Robert Collins.

The illustrations are by C. W. Jefferys, taken from the Imperial Oil Collection, and are an integral part of this 1967 Canadian Cenntennial publication because "in a working life that spanned 60 years, C.W. Jefferys illustrated Canadian history from the time of Jean Cabot. Other artists have portrayed Canada's history, but Jefferys is recongnized as the best of them all.
