THE FACTS ABOUT A POP GROUP, Featuring WINGS, Introduced by Paul McCartney and Written by David Gelly, is a 1976 behind-the-scenes book that details the everyday realities and logistics of a major touring rock band.
"In this book we have set out to give the rest of the picture, the everyday routine which even the most eminent must follow. To get their music to the people they have to tour, record, employ specialists with particular skills and talents. This is the process which we describe here in words and pictures." -Dave Gelly and Homer Sykes introduction.
Sir James Paul McCartney, MBE (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. With John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, he gained worldwide fame with the rock band the Beatles, largely considered the most popular and influential group in the history of pop music. His songwriting partnership with Lennon is the most celebrated of the post-war era. After the band’s break-up, he pursued a solo career and formed the band Wings with his first wife, Linda, and Denny Laine.
