Souvenir glass of the Panmure Island Lighthouse, located in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The painted scene is vibrant, and the 3-D lighthouse is stunning. Under the lighthouse is a plaque that reads, Prince Edward Island.

Constructed in 1853, it is PEI's oldest wooden lighthouse. It features a distinct octagonal tapered wooden design, a vibrant red lantern cap, and an attached white oil house with a red roof, all of which are beautifully replicated on your glass.

HISTORY OF THE LOCATION: During the mid-19th century, regional hubs like Montague and Georgetown were thriving centers for shipbuilding and commerce. In 1835 alone, records noted up to 175 vessels anchored simultaneously in the harbor. To protect this immense shipping traffic from dangerous shallow reefs (such as Bear Reef and Panmure Ledge), Captain Henry Bayfield recommended constructing a beacon on a strategic peninsula.ย
