OVER THE FENCE, Stories from Outport Newfoundland, is a collection of stories with a common theme, from places as near as Trepassey and as far away as Scotland.
The stories, most of which are taken from the author’s memories, are a compilation of nostalgias. Included also are documented sources from personal journals and diaries, detailing lifestyles of a bygone era.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Laura Morry Williams was born in Ferryland, Newfoundland, Canada. She is the published author of two books: My Many Moons and Becoming Sarah. Currently, Laura is preparing three new manuscripts for publication. Laura’s most recent book, Over the Fence: stories from Outport Newfoundland, is a collection of stories from the families and folks long gone from Ferryland and area but whose stories are fondly remembered.
Laura’s stories are heart-felt recollections of growing up in Ferryland in a large family of 14 children. Her poems convey joys and sorrow and enrich the reader with the distinct flavour and tone of a Newfoundland writer.
