OURSELVES IN CANADA, is not a story of the wide open spaces and the magnificent scenery, but rather an intimate picture of home life, a house, a garden, the kitchen, and some typical Canadian dishes and recipes. The experience of food and drink, motoring in severe weather: public transport, shops and clothes. Briefly, an intimate and sometimes humorous picture of the Canadian scene.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Gordon Winter, journalist, writer and broadcaster, had recently returned to England, from Canada, where he was the British Broadcasting Company's (BBC) representative for several years. He was thus afforded exceptional opportunities for observing the Canadian way of life as seen throught the eyes of an Englishman and his wife, and OURSELVES IN CANADA is his impressions of life in Canada in 1960, a wonderful look back at what was happening.
