ONE FOOT ON THE GROUND, is a memoir of Norman Emmott's service in the Royal Canadian Air Force beginning in 1937, as ground crew.
Continuing as a navigator in bomber command, flying over Germany, the author survived to continue his career in Canada at bush stations, in Ottawa, and as an exchange officer in the United States. After leaving the Air Force, the author worked in the aerospace industry. Norman Emmott's story of bravery and heroism is told with self-deprecating wit and sincere appreciation of the efforts of his fellow airmen.
