NOBODY CALLS ME MR. KIRCK, is an engaging biography of the plain-speaking Ontario farm boy who became Canada's best-known television news anchorman.
And nobody ever called him Mr. Kirck...It was always "Harvey" or "Harv" or "Harvey Kirck. In fact, when the veteran Canadian news anchor published his memoirs in 1986, the book was called, aptly enough, Nobody Calls Me Mr. Kirck.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: For a record-making 20 seasons, Mr. Kirck was "the heart and soul of the CTV network," in the words of Lloyd Robertson, the man who joined Mr. Kirck as co-anchor of the private broadcaster's national newscast in 1976 before becoming its sole talking head when Mr. Kirck called it a night in April of 1984.
