ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Mike was born in Nanaimo, BC., on 15th November 1945, the tenth child of John and Phyllis Gogo. Mike spent the first eight years of school at St. Ann's Convent in Nanaimo. He quit public school in Grade 10 by popular demand. He was very active in boxing and was a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Champions in 1969 called "Nanaimo Luckies". Mike worked as an iron worker, rancher, inmate, log scaler, logger, soldier, independent sawmill and woodlot operator, who lives on and owns a fifth generation Christmas Tree farm near Nanaimo established in 1897.
