Large Vintage Biscuit Barrel Tin Can Container with Removable Top: 'Old English Village Landmarks'
The Large Vintage Biscuit Barrel Tin Can Container, featuring 'Old English Village Landmarks,' is pre-owned but remains in presentable condition. It has a few dents, and the top lid exhibits a wavy metal pattern, likely due to the 'moisture remover disc' being replaced while still hot, causing the metal to ripple. Despite this, the lid fits snugly yet is detachable, the interior is exceptionally clean, and the exterior imagery nostalgically depicts buildings and landmarks from an 18th Century English Village. There is no manufacturers name on this tin, but was probably made by BARET WARE OF ENGLAND.
DID YOU KNOW? This style of pail was called a BISCUIT BARREL, because inside the top is a unique removable container that has a 'moisture absorbing material which should be dried out periodically.' And this little gizmo took the moisture out of the inside of the tin, which of course kept the cookies dry.
