ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jennie Rogers was born in Black Rock, Kings County, Nova Scotia, and received her formal education at Sheffield Mills, and Kings County Academy, Kentville, Nova Scotia. Following her graduation from Normal College in 1934, she taught for five years in a number of rural schools. Her and the husband, Dexter, retired in 1970 in Centreville, Nova Scotia. In addition to writing this first book of poetry, Jennie also loved gardening, and was active in church and community affairs.
