FACES OF THE FORCE, is a snapshot of RCMP officers working in very different times. They didn't have personal radios, computers, their cell phones, and DNA testing was decades away.
In the book Faces of the Force: True Stories of C-1966/67 Troop, co-authors Pamela Cowan and Helen Metella share the life stories of 29 members of the troop. Fifty-four years after first meeting as cadets at the RCMP Depot in Regina, one troop is being reunited through sharing the stories of their diverse careers. The idea for the project was first planted in 2016 when Cowan, then a reporter at the Leader-Post, interviewed a number of the troop members for a story on their 50th anniversary reunion. She knew she had barely scratched the surface of their individual stories and told them they should think about writing a book.
