DANCING HAND, The First Novel by David Essig, one of Canada's most well-loved singer-songwriters. A story that moves from a bakery on the Lido in Venice, to a coffeehouse in Nelson, BC in the golden days of the early 70's, to current-day Cambodia - a powerful new work from one of Canada's great narrative voices.

Sarah Freisen, a Mennonite from rural Manitoba, finds herself on the Lido in Venice as an apprentice to master baker Beppe who teaches her lessons that will carry her through her life from Europe to the Kootenay mountains of BC and on to contemporary Southeast Asia.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: DAVID ESSIG was introduced to Canadian audiences in 1971 as a "talented newcomer" at the legendary Mariposa Folk Festival. Now, nearly 40 years later, he has an international career as one of Canada's finest interpreters of original, contemporary folk music. Always paying homage to his roots in Bluegrass and Country Blues, David uses these traditions to create timeless new songs.
