Antique Tin Can Celebrating the CORONATION of KING EDWARD VIII, 1937
Antique Tin Can Celebrating the CORONATION of KING EDWARD VIII, 1937
A Historical Antique Tin Can by The Walters Palm Toffee Company, Celebrating the CORONATION of KING EDWARD VIII, in 1937...that never happened!
Clear, vivid reds grace the lid image of our new King outside his beloved Windsor Castle. Removable top, bottom shows minor wear to the tin, inside clean and minimal wear. Usual slight dings over the years, but overall a wonderful, clear image and a beautiful overall patina. Made in England for the Walters Palm Toffee Co.
The abandoned Coronation of King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom was due to take place at Westminster Abbey on 12 May 1937. Preparations had already begun and souvenirs were already sold, when Edward VIII abdicated on 11 December 1936.
