Vintage Rare Tin Container by Massilly Company of France: 'CANADIAN ACADIENS'
'CANADIAN ACADIENS' Vintage Tin Container by Massilly Company of France is rare in my collection…because it's a rare MASSILLY TIN from France, and you don't see a lot of them in Canada! This tin was acquired in Nova Scotia, and features a Pilgrim man and woman on the cover, somewhat reminicent of the Canadian Acadiens. Beautifully aged, clean inside and out, slight oxidized-tin patina on the bottom, and a good working hinge. Made in France.
DID YOU KNOW? This image was originally a famous hand-painting by HENRIOT-QUIMPER. Quimper faience is produced in a factory near Quimper, in Brittany, France. Since 1708, Quimper faience has been painted by hand, and production continues to this day. The "Faïenceries de Quimper" were established in "Locmaria", the historical faience quarter of the city of Quimper, near the center.
