Antique Bacillus Bulgaricus PILL TABLET BOTTLE, includes Original Box and Instruction Sheet, by Parke, Davis & Co. Detroit, Mich. USA 1920's
This Antique "Tablets Bacillus Bulgaricus" bottle was 'best before' stamped Mar 9, 1921, and was manufactured by the Parke Davis Company of Detroit, Michegan, USA. The pills were for gastro-intestinal affections of bacterial origin. Bottle, cap and label are in excellent condition. The original paper-covered cardboard box has some wear, but is intact, clearly legible and displays beautifully. Inside the box is the original information sheet supplied by the company on the history of their tablets, why it will cure you, references and company information. A wonderful glimpse back to the early days of pharmaceuticals! Made in The United States of America.
DO YOU KNOW? An interesting feature on the back of this bottle is a small strip of white paint, with a hand-inked number. So, maybe the pharmacist's prescription number, OR maybe a previous museum identification number? Please let us know if you know what this means.
