There are many old cast iron fishermen on the market today for sale, but there isn't a more lovely looking pair of fine gentlemen than this pair, in this stunning condition...and they just speak volumes of artistic dedication and our history!
These are perfectly cast and show original hand-painting in brilliant yellows and deep blacks. They both have the full length 5-knot netting, and each of their faces have that true East Coast Spirit! The bottom of each statue still has the original green felt protective material. There's some tiny nicks and minor chips in the paint, but nothing serious, and it's rare they look this good, considered many got kicked around on the floor, to the door. Hmm? Maybe a testament to me having these carefully tucked away in storage for the past many decades?
Anyways, they are a perfectly matched pair of Maritime Fisherman that will adorn your home or cottage for many decades more to come. Made in Canada.
