Antique hand-painted pictorial souvenir trinket tray featuring the famous Bastion of Nanaimo Harbour in British Columbia, Canada, circa 1906. It’s in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, showcasing a vivid, deep image. The base still has possibly the original green felt table protector. No manufacturing or location details are present.

This deep sea blue and bright gold, intricately scalloped pictorial souvenir trinket dish was not only beautifully crafted for its time, but also features an incredible hand-painted image of the area, capturing a moment forever—Nanaimo Harbour with its iconic bastion landmark in the foreground and towering, coal-laden sailing ships in the background.

DID YOU KNOW: In 1891, the land this structure sat on was sold, and the new owner threatened to demolish the structure. A contribution of $175 from the city saved the Bastion and it was moved across Front Street. The Bastion was moved again in 1974 when Front Street was widened.
