ABOUT THE AUTHOR: After finishing high school in Melfort, Alice Stainer attended Normal School in Saskatoon, and subsequently taught in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and England. While living in the British Isles she was married and widowed, and finally returned to her native country where she enjoyed retirement in the City of Victoria on Vancouver Island.
