The RCM issued its first commemorative nickel dollar in 1970, and this special coin commemorates the100th anniversary of Manitoba joining the Canadian Confederation. It features a prairie crocus, the provincial flower of Manitoba, by Raymond Taylor, a Canadian artist. All around is written 'MANITOBA, CANADA DOLLAR, 1870-1970'.
