This Vintage Hand-Tinted Winter Forest Photograph is by Whiting, entitles 'SILVER GLADES, Nova Scotia', is a very large coloured B&W photograph. The photographer's style is very reminiscent of MacAskill, another photographer also from Nova Scotia. This is a rare winter scene, ever-so-lightly coloured onto the Black and White photo that it's almost unnoticed. The photo is mounted to a double embossed matte, pencil titled and signed. The frame is beautiful and ornate, but some finish is missing Dust cover is opened in several places. The name of 1st owner is pencil written on the back, probably by the framer, with a notation marked 'paid'.
