SOMETIMES I KISS MY FEET, is a testament to the spirit of adventure and curiosity that has propelled Judy Norbury throughout her life.
She was born in India in the foothills of the Himalayas to a Canadian fashion-model mother and a British father who came to India as a teenager to work in the carpet industry. Norbury spent the first four years of her life, beloved by not only her parents but by the many Indian villagers who were the household staff, neighbours and carpet company employees. A serious bout with polio left her unable to walk and the family uprooted and relocated to Vancouver, Canada.
Music and songwriting have been a large part of Norbury's life and she was invited to perform in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Disabled Persons International World Conference. There she met Nizamani, a fellow polio survivor from Pakistan. He inspired her to visit the activists in his country who advocate for disabled citizens. She decided to pay him a visit on her next trip to the Indian subcontinent and from that adventure comes this book.
