2026 Canadian $2 Toonie GLOW-IN-THE-DARK COIN: The 50th Anniversary Celebration of The Toronto CN Tower. Made in Canada by The Royal Canadian Mint. Condition is Brand New, pristine, as each coin is from the original MINT roll, untouched by hand and placed in a special foldable vinyl pocket visible from both sides, with a handy specification insert included.

This is only the second glow-in-the-dark Canadian circulation coin, and this 2026 $2 commemorative circulation coin celebrates Canada’s tallest freestanding structure, the CN Tower, on the 50th Anniversary of its official opening. Each Colourized coin is a colourful glow-enhanced collectibles, and every one of them offers the same fun view of the Tower-dominated Toronto skyline—past, present, and, when viewed in the dark, aglow at night.

HOW TO USE: Hold your coin under an ultraviolet light source to activate the photo-luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) technology, then move to a dark room to see the CN Tower and the Toronto skyline lit up at night.

Designed by Canadian illustrator Carl Wiens, the coin’s reverse commemorates the 50th anniversary (“50 YEARS ANS”) of the official opening of the CN Tower (“LA TOUR CN TOWER”) on June 26, 1976. The inner core features a view of the CN Tower overlooking Lake Ontario and dominating a contemporary downtown Toronto skyline, whose tall skyscrapers tower above an outline of the city’s skyline as it appeared in 1976. When the photo-luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) technology is activated on the colourized coin, the scene shows the CN Tower and skyline illuminated at night, reflecting Toronto’s vibrant energy. Additional silhouettes on the outer ring represent five decades of growth and architectural evolution, with the skyline in 1976 appearing on the left and the 2026 cityscape on the right—a visual record of Toronto’s transformation into a modern, world-class city. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
