WOMEN DRESSING BY DEGAS: une petite encyclopedie de l'art by Fernand Hazan, 1958, is a precious pocket-sized booklet detailing DEGAS artwork, particularly his studies of Women Dressing: washerwomen & milliners.
There are several pages of background information, a list of plates, and then each full page displays a full-colour artwork with a blank facing page. The booklet measures 6 x 4 inch, is solid and tight bound, no marks on inside pages, but slight wear and minor staining to cover. On the inside back cover is the original price tag from A.J. Freiman Ltd for .39 cents! Printed in France, 1958, by Acheve d'imprimer.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Edgar Degas (July 19, 1834-September 27, 1917) was a French Impressionist artist famous for his pastel drawings and oil paintings. Degas also produced bronze sculptures, prints, and drawings. Degas is especially identified with the subject of dance; more than half of his works depict dancers.
