This Vintage coin set celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Trans-Canada Railway, CANADA. The Silver Dollar design features the image of a Steam Locomotive Train set against a Map of Canada. Beautiful Condition w/minor toning on Silver Dollar: Photographs display actual coin for sale.
Note: 1981 was the 1st year the Royal Canadian Mint changed this 7-coin set designation from “Prestige” to “Proof”. The term "proof" refers to the coin's finish. Proof blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned to ensure high-quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice.
This Double Dollar 7-Coin Proof Set from the Royal Canadian Mint is presented in a Black Leather book-style display case, COA, and black cardboard RCM outer beauty box, with all coins encapsulated and visible both sides. Lined in Red satin.
Commemorative Dollar is 23.3-gram weight & 50% Fine 99.99% Silver. All other coins are nickel, penny is bronze. Made in Canada.
