1981 Double Dollar 7-Coin CDN PROOF Set: TRANS-CANADA RAILWAY 100th Anniversary. Made in Canada by The Royal Canadian Mint. Photographs display actual coin set for sale. EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Commemorative Silver Dollar is 23.3-grams weight, and 50% Fine 99.99% Silver. All other coins are nickel, penny is bronze.
This Vintage 1981 Double Dollar coin set celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Trans-Canada Railway, CANADA. The Silver Dollar design features the image of a Steam Locomotive Train set against a Map of Canada.
Note: 1981 was the 1st year the Royal Canadian Mint changed this 7-coin set designation from “Prestige” to “Proof”. The term "proof" refers to the coin's finish. Proof blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned to ensure high-quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice.
This Double Dollar 7-Coin Proof Set from the Royal Canadian Mint is presented in a Black Leather book-style display case, COA, NO outer box. All coins encapsulated and visible both sides. Lined in Red satin. Beautiful Condition with slight toning on Silver Dollar outer-rim.
