CHILCOTIN ROSE is an exclusive authorized biographical and living-historical account of the life and times of MARY KIRNER, a wilderness woman from the Chilcotin Plateau, in British Columbia, Canada.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Mary Kirner, (February 11, 1941 – May 13, 2020) Mary owned and ran Nimpo Lake Resort for 40 years and often referred to these 40 years as a “Labor of love”. Mary lived a full life, a life that was adventuresome and exciting but also challenging at times. Mary worked hard and was never one to back away from challenges she encountered but rather she relished managing them and moving on to loving life. Mary took such joy in life, marveling at all things big and small. One of her greatest joys was living and working at Nimpo Lake. For many, Nimpo Lake was synonymous with Mary, for it was Mary that made Nimpo Lake a special place to be. She will be missed by many – it is the end of an era in the Chilcotin.
