This RARE 1931 Antique Decorative Calendar Plate was made by WOODS BURSLEM of ENGLAND. It was Gold Imprinted for Dion Brothers. of Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. Excellent Condition, no chips or cracks. This plate has truly been loved and protected since 1931!ย 

The outer rim features each month's calendar. The top of the plate displays the year, 1931. The inner circle features a serene country scene of a cow, gentle river, and a castle on the far away hill. The lower rim was gold imprinted, "Compliments Dion Bros. of Cut Knife, Sask." The underside displays the Woods Burslem of England factory logo. Made in England.

HISTORY OF CUT KNIFE, SASKATCHEWAN: Cut Knife is a town in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan on Highway 40, northwest of Saskatoon and 55 km (34 mi) west of North Battleford. Cut Knife is named after Cut Knife Hill (now called Chief Poundmaker Hill) situated on the Poundmaker reserve. The hill was named after a Sarcee chief killed nearby by the Cree in the 1840s. The town is close to the site of the Battle of Cut Knife which occurred during the North-West Rebellion of 1885.
