This RARE 1929 Antique Decorative Calendar Plate was made by WOODS BURSLEM of ENGLAND, and was Gold Imprinted for Symonds' Hardware, Richard, Saskatchewan. Excellent Condition, no chips or cracks. This plate has truly been loved and protected since 1929!ย
The outer rim features a sun and moon image, along with each month's calendar. The inner circle features four country scenes, possibly representing the four seasons. The lower rim was gold imprinted, "Compliments of Symonds' Hardware. Richard. Sask." The underside displays the Woods Burslem factory logo. Made in England.
HISTORY OF RICHARD, SASKATCHEWAN: Richard was founded in 1900 by Emile Richard. He was born in 1860, and died in Montreal in 1942. He moved out of Richard, Saskatchewan when the Richard House "Acadia" burnt down in 1935. The Richard post office was established in 1904. Richard incorporated as a village on October 11, 1916.
