2010 Canadian 8-Coin Proof Double Dollar Set: CANADIAN NAVY (1910-2020) 100th Anniv Silver Dollar. Packaged in an elegant book-style RMC Maroon Leather case, with removable lens, COA and original RCM outer black box. Excellent Condition.

It was the Second World War that really brought Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) to fruition. More than 120 corvettes were built to become the guardians of the North Atlantic escorting convoys and attacking submarines that had so threatened the fledgling navy during the First World War. The silver coin features HMCS Sackville, the last surviving corvette and living memorial to the Royal Canadian Navy, its pennant number (K-181) is shown and highlighted in gold plating.

All coin composition, except the loonie and penny, are 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper. Silver Dollar has selective gold plating.
