About the Artist: Lloyd G. Nowlan was a prolific Maritime artist, specialized in black ink line drawing, from Pictou County in Nova Scotia, Canada. Born in 1915 and died in 1999. He descended from original settlers to the area who arrived in the 1700's. A major example of his work was made into lovely pieces of wall plaque art by Art in Black, of Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Shaped as a porthole and employing genuine antique fisherman ropes reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean as a terrific border accent, they were highly prized Nova Scotia souvenirs and are found around the world.
