She lived in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada in 1926. Lois married Frank, and they retired from Winnipeg to the Comox Valley in 1979. In 2003 after a few months of illness following the death of Frank, she realized she'd have to pursue new interests. During her career she was a photographer, a singer, and a legal secretary. She turned to writing as a new experience. Other than the two mystery novelette, 1 2 3 FORE, she has written over 30 short stories, all either mysteries or humour.
